Choose your own fictional character
01:54 Friday, Sept. 01, 2006

I tried to make that sound kind of like those "choose your own adventure books." I really disliked the Goosebumps ones because I always ended up dying within a few minutes of starting the book. Either that or I'm too safe and end up "turning back to go home." Hello? Who's dumb enough to walk into creepy dark woods at night? Whatever. Anyways, I've been thinking about Pride and Prejudice again and I think I relate most to a combo of Mr. Darcy and Jane. Yeah, I know combining is like cheating. I say Mr. Darcy because he's socially disabled, pretty much, which I very much relate to. I do not possess the skill of conversation and sometimes I come off as unfriendly because I don't want to talk to people, since I have nothing to say. I relate to Jane, because I'm sure once I find my Mr. Bingley, he won't even know it, and his best friend will convince him that I don't actually care. And I'm very aware that I give off that kind of vibe to some people I've liked because putting yourself out there is scary and risky and I'd very much rather be in control of my situation. I just don't like when things end on a sour note. That's totally inconvenient and best avoided by hiding my true character from the beginning. Sad huh? More like SAD (social anxiety disorder). Hehe. I'm working on it. It's just so much easier to live vicariously through fictional characters. :P

Anywegs, Urshley has gotten her being-legal-is-old-news-now membership card, because she turned 19 as of yesterday evening. To celebrate, we ate at CPK and then walked around the mall in search of a hoodie with thumbholes. You'd think with so many stores, they'd have something worthy of Ursh, but nooo. Guess we're going to have to wait for H&M to open instead. I'm sure my friends are seriously considering cutting their own thumbholes into a sweater for her. We ended up spending too much time at Borders and Ashley had to go to dinner with the fam, so Wendy, Nat and Pei Pei spent a few hours at my hizzy. We played like four rounds of mini Mahjong and they tried to play some mini pingpong. We took a walk around the block with Patches and when we got back we played concentration with Mahjong tiles. Totally got my butt kicked into next year. My short term memory sucks, to the point that it might not exist because it was such a hole of suck that it ate itself. We watched a bit of Celebrity Duets or whatever..that show with singing celebs. I love Lucy Lawless! haha. She's so gorgeous. I don't think it's really fair that they picked some celebs that already had singing experience, though. And how funny would it be for Hal Sparks to comment on himself on Best Week Ever? Anywho, Ursh finally showed up and we went bowling! Bowling is tough. I haven't really gone very many times and the periods of time between those times are always very long. I accidentally got a strike because of the announcement of closing time being within 10 minutes. I was in a rush and it rolled and down they all went.. Unfortunately our game was cut short and I have no idear what our actual scores would have been. It was fun though and we all managed not to hurt ourselves. After that, we went to Life for shaved ice and whatnot. The drinks were kind of sucko and the stupid guy didn't even write down the drinks Wendy and I ordered, so they didn't make them until we asked where our drinks were. The day was fun times though. :] Saturday shall be quite pimp as well.
