News brief. Brief news. 18:03 Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2006 Two subjects that have reached the news as well as hit home, literally, are the subjects of the fire at Emperor elementary school and the gropist at UCLA. Honestly, who is low enough to burn down classrooms at a PUBLIC ELEMENTARY SCHOOL? It's not sticking it to the Man. You're really just dumbing down society by trying to get rid of free education. And all those little kids! Can you imagine how sad some of them must feel? Whoever burned down the classrooms must be a babykiller too. And if the anarchists were students or former students, then that's even stupider. Elementary school is when teachers are most effective, in my opinion. Those are the teachers that teach us to read and learn the basics of everything that may lead to our futures. What could make a kid hate school so much that they'd want to destroy it? :[ I went there for a year and I loved the people. I imagine it to be a very different place nowadays if a student did that. Okay, so there's this weirdo running around near the apartments groping girls and then running away. It's happened like five times already. It sounds pretty stupid but it was serious enough to make it onto the news. At first I thought he was like a rapist or something, but then I found out it wasn't that nuts, but still, I'd rather not be violated while going to Westwood. I wonder if it's someone from UCLA, because that'd be really embarrassing if he finally gets caught and everyone labels him as The Gropist.
